Car Shops in Dallas-Fort Worth: Tint, PPF, Ceramic, Wrap & Tuning
Dallas-Fort Worth is a big, fast-growing car market: long highway commutes, lots of trucks and SUVs, and plenty of enthusiast cars around Plano, Frisco and the Mid-Cities. North Texas summers routinely push past 100°F, the sun is intense most of the year, and spring brings some of the most frequent hailstorms in the country.

- Windshield: tint only above the AS-1 line or in the top 5 inches; that strip must let in at least 25% of light, reflect no more than 25%, and cannot be red, blue or amber.
- Front side windows: at least 25% VLT (visible light transmission) and no more than 25% luminous reflectance.
- Rear side windows: no darkness limit.
- Rear window: no darkness limit if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides; otherwise it must meet 25% VLT.
- Label: installers must place a compliance label on tinted windows (Transp. Code §547.609).
- Texas ended the annual safety inspection for most non-commercial vehicles on January 1, 2025, but these tint limits are still state law and can be enforced on the road.
