Is ceramic window tint worth it over carbon tint?

It depends on how much heat you deal with and how long you keep the car. Carbon film (about $280–$480 for a full car) cuts heat better than dyed film, will not turn purple and usually lasts 5–7+ years. Ceramic film (about $400–$750) rejects more heat, especially infrared, and typically lasts 8–10+ years, so it suits hot climates and long commutes. Neither interferes with phone or GPS signals. Both must meet state limits: 25% on Texas front sides, 50% in Ohio. Estimates from a 2025 pricing guide, reviewed as of October 2026.
